You could be right. Too bad we don't all live in Florida. That state is covered in a huge blanket of EVDO Rev-A from Sprint and VZW.

You can go to Toast.net and run their upload speed test in PIE. You can choose a file from your device (I choose one of the stock photos that come on it, they're about the right size), then run the upload test.

I prefer http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest Which will test your Dowload and Upload Speed without needing a test file. Flash 7 is required for both Opera and PIE Browsers.

I'm using Jak's WM 6.1 ROM with GPS all setup. I just sent this note to Jak, but I thought we should share notes.

Jak, I'm running your ROM on a Sprint Touch.

I noticed the slow Network Acquire on each soft boot that was mentioned by someone else.

I think something is crashing because I accidently noticed the \Temp\CRASHDUMP directory has a new sub directory on every boot with a .kdmp file in. No messages or anything on boot but I think something is failing on boot and doing a crash dump and that is why it's slow to boot up and get the network (just a hunch).

Also I noticed a few errors right at the Alltell customizations point. It just flashed up for a second and I think it said something about notification.

Not sure if the WM 6.0 Alltel REV-A ROM had similar issues or not.

I don't doubt that but how is it even possible that I don't when I live 7 miles from Sprint's National Headquarters in Overland Park, KS? Shouldn't that general vicinity be blanketed by Rev. A?

rev-a works fine for me if you have the radio then you have rev-a try your test again see if you get something better

those are barely 1x speeds. do you have an ev icon? go to mobilespeedtest.com from pie and see what speeds you get

jak...any reason why the touch keypad wont stay set to t9? in past roms it would stick on whichever method i used last time. i realize this is just a test rom and that there will be more to come, but i figured id ask in case im missing something
