In his post, click on the green thanks button in the lower right hand corner.

EDIT: Since it counts as a post, you need 50 posts to be able to use it, since you only have 10 you can't use it yet.

The only thing I did is:

New SPL...
Uploaded Altell ROM
Stopped User Customization
did the 1,2,3 Thing - reset
did the GPS - Active.cab thing - reset
went online downloaded googlemaps directly to my phone
Opened up google maps, waited 20 mins.
Unistalled the Gps-active.cab - reset
did the 1,2,3 thing again - reset
Did the gps-active.cab again - reset

Brought up googlemaps went to menu and selected gps location...and BOOM it popped up right away!

Hi, Thank you all for your hard work.

I'm trying to use QuickGPS. At first It wouldn't download the new sat information so I googled the problem and found a patch and reg file.

Now it works, it downloads the new data. BUT.... is there something that i'm missing because I assumed it would help quicken the "sat lock" time but I am still to be able to find or lock unto a sat using google maps.

LOL, ok I thought i was losing my mind...thanks for clearing that up! I guess I will just have to post more rather than just "leaching" these forums for information!

can't wait for the new rom, i was almost going to just try the alltel rom but I think I'll just wait since it should be up within the hour.

edit: 50 posts!!! lol, now I actually now that ya'll weren't lying about the green thanks button haha

Hmmm this might be a day with lots of rom burning ;)
Alltel is 94% and now I see JD has a non-carrier one.... here's hoping its WM6.1!!!

Might? MIGHT!!??? I think anybody who knows anything will get a custom ROM today for Rev. A and GPS...heck yes! \\:D/

i'm in the same boat. i've done several hard reboots, installing the 3 files, restart, install the gps cab, restart, google maps times out looking for a signal. i've tried with and without quickgps and it doesn't seem to make a difference. live search fails too.

here's hoping jd's rom solves these issues. i'm getting jealous of all the people who've got it working :(

Please be advised that this rom will only work with the 3.37 radio and the 2.31 bootloader

Also I removed the Alltel stuff so its ok to let the customizations run

This rom is only a test rom

GPS does work without any manipulation just use whatever software to start it
