Roaming Options?

Hey gang. Is there any way to set roaming options with this ROM, outside of EPST? Obviously the choices for what you can do are limited (compared to the Sprint ROMS), and I can get as far as setting the phone to be able to roam for phone but not the fine-tuning options for data roaming. I can't seem to find where to turn on automatic data roaming. The end result is that even though I have my LiveMail options set to push mail as it arrives (even when roaming), I have to initiate the send and receive every time.

Any ideas?

Re: New Alltel Rom?

hgray, thanks!! phone is resetting now following the call to Alltel.

Others, the GPS is still labeled External GPS. No GPS is detected either by MS Live Search or by Google Maps.

Re: New Alltel Rom?

So if we get GPS working on the Alltel Touch, what is the next step for the other carriers? Just use the drivers from the update?

Re: New Alltel Rom?

nice. I was going to say most 3.xx roms are gps/rev a capable from what weve seen so far between the mogul and touch now. Its possible the altell one is capable but just didnt include the gps drivers (didnt pay htc fo rhtem or what not). It should work out though. Im sure if someone doesnt do it Imcoke or another hacker will get it by the time the unlocker is done by the end of the week. its so close

Re: New Alltel Rom?

The cab only installs the DLLs and makes no changes to the registry whatsoever. I also set it up so it can be uninstalled if it doesn't work. It won't brick your phone.

The DLLs in the cab are signed with developer certs, so you will need to use the "security off" cab to install the certs for the phone to recognize the DLLs as being valid signed files.

If you got the DLLs from a dump, they are not signed at all because they are normally Modules and not regular files. I don't know if turning off security will allow you to use unsigned DLLs, but you could have a security issue there and you wouldn't get a warning either.

On the Titan, all settings are left default and your program needs to be set to COM4. Google Maps doesn't need any settings changed, just select "Use GPS". I have also heard it may be necessary to turn on Location in the Phone options.

Re: New Alltel Rom?

I tried the GPS Test and it flew right by Com4. I have a copy of all the dlls you gave me mardukeme, so I'm gonna give the cab a whirl and cross my fingers. Will update here.

hgray,

Did you set the settings within to program to com4, or did you leave it on Automatically detect the GPS? I've played with a mogul in the past that had GPS enabled and it flew right by the Com4 as well, when set to automatic.

I set it to 4, but it still tries to scan all ports.

That's weird when I have used the program in the past it stayed on Com4 when manually set, but again I maybe mistaken. Its been a while since I have used the program last.
