Hello first time posting long time reading and searching. Its a little hard to with "rom" being to short to search for...

Ok, I got a alltel PPC 6800 and updated it to the latest rom VIA HTC site.

I d/led the unlocker and it runs fine until this point...

YOur device should be in 3 color screen... What I get is a slow fad to black and a few vertial lines on the left side... I pull the usb cable out and then the phone reboots and it acts like nothing ever happened.

I have read though this thread and cant find the answer, so now posting... Help please, I'm wanting to learn ... but stuck

Ok, flashed the rom, everything works great! BUT, I cannot seem to program my phoneusing (##MSL#), or (##786#). Anyone else run into this after flashing? I mean, Is there a cab I need to load? Or is it because this is an ALLTELL rom? Or should the radio version be something else? Much help appreciated.

you will need to install the ## phone codes on some roms.

I know that if you use ppckitchen, there is an option to include the ## codes oem there, but I'm sure there is a cab around here somewhere. just google it

I have no idea how to install the codeson a rom. I searched high & low, but no luck on a cab for the ##------#.

youre using ppckitchen then right?

EDIT: also, what carrier are you with again?

EDIT2: ok, what youre going to need to do is (and I'm not sure if only one of these or both are necessary, I'm just pretty confident that doing both will fix you up ):

A.

1. Install no2chem's package installer
2. Download the oem package of ## codes (I know that this for sure can be found in the ppckitchen oem) (be sure to have the oem zipped up (.zip))
3. Install the oem using no2chem's package installer.

B. 1. Go download the carrier cab for your carrier from dcd over on xda.

that should do it! let us know how it goes.

Sorry this is probably a dumb question but after my phones unlocked what do I end up with? do I need to have a custom rom ready to install or will all my previous settings still be there(same as after a hard restart) Im curious because im waiting on Conflippers next update but I thought if I could I would go ahead and get it unlocked

after any flash (includes unlocking) or hard-resetting, all previous settings will not be there. after you flash, you will just have whatever rom imcokeman has configured w/it, i cant remember what it is. so it will still run and everything but, like a hard-reset, there will b no personal settings or anything.

best suggestion is unlock, flash immediately to a rom you really like, wait for rom you like more, then flash that one.
