Unlockers for Custom Roms on Vogue 2.31(GPS) and 0.40(nonGPS)

Flash back to stock first... (Not sure how android will affect it)
Then flash to .40 and then back to stock.

sorry to be a noob but do i just use the rom listed here or the newer verizon one (winmo 6.1) that i cant find anywhere? : http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=19071

is the stuff in the downgrading danger thread relevant? I'm on Coke 2.31 and have the 3.42.5 radio w/GPS working http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26082
but that thread says downgrading is bad?? im confused :P

Then unlock with .40

Actually problem not solved... trying to flash from bootloader and getting this:
ERROR [264] : CONNECTION
