Re: Cook your own Custom Touch ROM

I made a ROM using these steps and when I run RUU to flash it says the ROM is not made for my device (sprint touch)?

Download OMJ's Kitchen, extract the NBH out of his V2 Rom, place it in the root directory and run PrepIt.bat. Then start from there.

edit: This is what you will need for the 3.xx radio roms...

Re: Cook your own Custom Touch ROM

When I got the error mentioned above, I may have actually used the original DogGuy kitchen, not yours modified for the Vogue.

BUT Now I have a different problem! I am using the NBH from JD's newest wm6.1 hybrid ROM. Ran prepit.bat, no problems there. I try adding some OEM's in the OEM folder and then doing buildos, and buildOS gives me an error saying it can't created the user.hv and default.hv files (the registry). I tried running prepit and then doing buildos without adding OEMs and it worked fine, so somethings up with the OEM's. ALSO, buildos gives me an error "cannot locate DSM File" when I try to use a personal settings OEM made w/ OEMizer.
Help please

There is something wrong with the syntax in your RGU file inside one of your OEM's. Try adding them one by one in buildos to find the culprit. Once you find the OEM, check the RGU file and look it over well. If you have problems, copy and paste the registry entries here from that OEM's RGU file and we can see what we can find.

Have you updated to the latest version from tierman.net ? Then the two files should go into the ..\kitchen\tools folder. I think the newest is april or may of this year.

Re: Cook your own Custom Touch ROM

I was trying this all with JD's hybrid ROM. I got the kitchen to build properly with no errors, and the ROM flashes ok, but it won't get past the first startup screen. I think there's other stuff going on in JD's ROM that makes it unsuitable for this process...

Re: Cook your own Custom Touch ROM

fyi---if you didn't already know this....when u get that registry error in buildOS, check the log file in the temp folder, it will tell you which rgu has the issue, and which line in the rgu.

Also, when cooking from a kitchen, it's really best to start with a clean base rom.

and for the record, the kitchen itself is from DogGuy, not me. This is more of a guide....originally I included a base rom in the kitchen, but have removed.

JD's latest rom is built from the ppckitchen... Roms built with the ppckitchen don't play well when decompiled and rebuilt. Been looking for an answer for a while............................................. .................................................. ........

Re: Cook your own Custom Touch ROM

OMJ - I am having a problem cooking a ROM using the instructions at the beginning of this thread.

I follow the directions - to a "T" - and everything happens as you describe it should happen. However, after I update the ROM, my vogue resets, shows the radio settings screen, moves to the next boot screen - and there it remains. Until I flash back to the ROM I was using before.

Any suggestions?????

Thanks to you and anyone who can help.
