Any suggestions?????

Thanks to you and anyone who can help.
Which NBH file are you decomposing and using as a base?

This is step #2, where you chose a donor rom ...

This will not work. Many of the cooks ... how to say ... nah, forget it ... it won't work.

Generally, you are going to want to start with an OEM rom from sprint, altell, verizon, etc. and go through the process of decomposing, rebuilding and flashing without modification (the first time) just to ensure the donor rom and tool-set have worked properly to create a useable rom for your phone.

Once you have done this, you can go through the process again, having made changes or added your own oem's.

Best regards,

Do something to their ROM to make it hard to decompile with this method.... protecting their work I guess. Rightfully so... they put tons of hours into it.

Re: Cook your own Custom Touch ROM

When you break down your donor rom is there any way to get a selection list or do you just need to create a new on pointing to the kitchen you create. Do you overwite folders in an existing kitchen? A little fuzzy on that part. Tried searching for that but I must be using the wrong term or soemthing.

The files already in the rom are not going to show up as they are in your \SYS folder and already "incorporated" into the ROM. Anything you add to the OEM folder will show up in a ppckitchen style list when you run BuildOS from the root directory as long as they have a setup.xml file with the right info. You could delete the OEM from the \SYS directory and re-add a complete one to the \OEM directory if you wanted.

That is helpful for my next attempt however I think if I explain what I am trying to do maybe there is another answer (or maybe not ). Basically I have a rom with everything I need but it is for sprint. Instead of nagging for a Vzw version I was attempting to take it break it down add in the MMS part which is the only thing I need that is Vzw specific and make that rom. It seems no matter how closely I try and choose the same options when I build my own I just can't come close so I was attempting to "cheat".

So all you need to do is follow my Add/Remove Programs Tutorial. Check out that tutorial, run prepit.bat, drop your MMS OEM into the ..\Kitchen\OEM folder, run buildos.exe, run buildit.bat, then flash. Or you could install the cab version...
