PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have a question about upgrading my sprint vogue. I flashed the alltel rom a couple of month's ago. Now I want to upgrade to the new official Sprint rom, Do I have to downgrade to the stock sprint rom first or can I flash the sprint rom over the alltel rom. If you could please give me step by step instructions on how to do this. Thanks in advance.

I copied the single "2.nbh" file to the storage-card and renamed it to "VOGUIMG.NBH". I then inserted the card into the device (with battery removed), inserted the battery, and pressed the power button to display the bootloader screen (RBGW bars).

The device immediately updated. I didn't have to touch a thing. Before I knew it, I was powering up and everything was perfect! No need to load any PRLs or run any other executables as all that stuff seems to be either included in the NBH or downloaded over the network, even though these files were also found separately in the executable. Activation took place automatically.

A special thanks to the previous authors for instructions in using the storage-card method.

Thanks jstich for the microSD rom update report. I also have to do this via the microSD since I only have a Mac. I have a quick question for you though. When I extracted the .exe file, there were two .nbh files (1.nbh and 2.nbh). Did you ever install the 1.nbh? Digging around I found that someone said it is the rom for the radio. Is this true? Could you check to see if the radio version got updated in your "device information" settings and whether your GPS and EVDO rev. A are both working.

Thanks!

If you have trouble using Vista to update the firmware with the newly-released executable from HTC's site, maybe my story can help you out:

I am using the officially released ROM version (3.03.651.4) released today.

I initially tried updating using the EXE from the Sprint Touch page on HTC's site. I followed the steps to the tee (establishing ActiveSync connection first and then installing the RUU executable), however I ran into trouble. I was using a Vista machine to execute the update to the Touch. I began the update process. As soon as the device appeared to have "flashed" itself, Vista immediately showed a "new hardware found" bubble. The flashing of the phone obviously caused Vista to lose its recognition of the phone mid-process and therefore interrupted the connection. ](*,)

The new hardware bubble eventually resolved itself and reported that my hardware was ready to use (thanks a lot, Vista!), but the RUU obviously reported a connection error. I didn't touch the phone or the cable but just tried re-executing the RUU. The "new device" (to Vista) was able to keep its connection as the RUU executed. This time I got as far as 10% into the upgrade when I received a "[328] Invalid Command" error. "$@%!#%^"

I tried running the RUU executable once again but got as far as 0% at which point the device continued to returned to the bootloader screen, and the RUU reported the same "[328] Invalid Command" error.

I was able to use the MicroSD storage-card method to update it. Opening the executable with WinRAR I was able to extract the "2.nbh" file. I formatted my storage card (after backing it up) to FAT32 partitioning although it was already in this file system (to start fresh). i really dont think that is something that you will need to worry about. flash away with the new sprint htc exe.

When I run the RUU, it seems to go through but then windows chimes and the usb connection drops and ActiveSync closes but then 2 seconds later Windows chimes again as if the phone was detected but nothing happens. If I try to update via the micro sd, the phone freezes at a grey screen with 'Loading. . .' in blue accross the top. I have two touches that Im trying this on and both are getting the same results. Is there anyone who can give me a hand pleeeease!?!?

ok. dont panice. just try sticking the phone into the bootloader, then flashing. to enter the bootloader, simply hold down the camera + power buttons, poke the reset hole, and keep holding those buttons until you enter the tri-color screen.

EDIT: boywonder, im really sorry to leave you hanging so long, my bad. also, let us know what all the numbers are on each vogue. when you boot up, what are the orange numbers that show on each device?

Ok so if I want to do a GPS rom then I do the second one? Not the first XP instructions?

If you want a GPS ROM your carrier may have the specific upgrade for you. But if you are looking for a custom ROM then you need to Run 2.31 unlocker by IaMcOkEmAn...makr sure after that you enter bootloader and show 2.31

And you currently do not have GPS enabled?

Go to start -> settings -> system -> device information

Post back all descriptions of:
ROM version:
ROM date:
Radio version:
PRL version:
PRI version

Sorry man...it's really been a while. I am pretty dang sure that you can simply flash the latest sprint vogue rom (you can get from htc's site) and just soft - reset as soon as it mentions that it will customize the device. Then you may need to call verizon and have them help you reprovision your phone..possibly.

That should get you GPS and Rev. A capabilities. If you want a custom rom, you will need to unlock w/ imcokeman's unlocker (the gps version, not .40) AFTER doing the steps described above.

I really wish I could tell you for sure...you might try just starting a new thread about it as I'm not positive anymore.
