Ok Guys There is also another way to flash your phone wich most of us probly know but for those who dont know or have vista this may be easyer
1. Format your MicroSD card to FAT32
2. Extract the .NBH you desire to flash from the exe or zip or w/e put it on the microsd card rename it from RUU_signed.nbh to VOGUIMG.NBH
3.Put the MicroSD card in your phone and Get To the BOOTLOADER screen (camer+power+reset) it should then start updating with the .NBH on the SD card

you can also use this procedure to unlock your phone by flashing the .nbh from Cokemans unlocker just extract it and rename it VOGUIMG.NBH or if your stuck at that HTC screen and cant sync because your phone wont boot up

hope this helps someone it helped me maybe add to first post?

how long should this usually take? My screen has been loading for 15 minutes....

After reading a number of stickies, I've got a question:
I noticed several posts claiming that no unlock is needed when flashing to the leaked 3.02 ROM for previously untouched/fresh out of the box devices.
Any substance to these claims?

it is the same. so long as you install an os-only rom, you are safe no matter the carrier (also be sure to not allow any "ppst.exe" files to be executed/run unless you are sure they are for your carrier)

its for all carriers so flash away!

now if you are flashing a rom with radio and os or just radio...then you gotta be sure to be carrier specific.

yes thats the truth. you can go ahead and flash the sprint leaked rom (i take it you are on sprint) then run the sprint ppst cab found here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=139

though if you want to flash away to another, custom rom...you will need to unlock.

good luck everyone feel free to keep askiing questions! (and to donate ;) ).

sorry i have been away, and that i will again be away as of about a half hour from now for a week or so.

Thanks. I've been so busy lately, did not even have time to install active sync on the PC I plan to connect Touch to, let alone any ROM play...
I bet by the time I can carve out a chunk of undisturbed time to do it, the official RevA+GPS ROM will be out.
I understand the need to unlock for anything cooked to flash.
I like unlocking, I even self-unlocked Original Blue AT&T (that did not allow unlocks) locked GSM Samsung S316, Moto V551, and RAZR... Different kind of unlocking though.
