No2Chem nueROM-V (WM 6.1)
 

This is the thread for nueROM-V, based on WM 6.1 Official Release.

NOTE: This is beta quality software. WM6.1 isn't as cool as some people make it out to be, and pretty much the only really interesting feature in threaded SMS. Still, if you would like to take a look, flash on ahead. THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. FLASHING THIS ROM MAY/WILL RUIN YOUR DEVICE.

-Clean (thanks to jakdillard for the clean OEM)

*(106) Updated with WM6.1 official XIP,in sync with titan build 5038.
*(107) Fixed encryption issue. If you were running build 106, please backup your microSD before flashing a new build.

Use baseKit-V 107 to insert files into your kitchen, packages I build into rom are located in packages. Windows live is provided in SYS_OPTIONAL if you use windows live. IMPORTANT! You must download the regular rom too and extract os.nb from the nbh to build or else you will be using the wrong XIP!

I will not be able to support this rom as fully as my titan rom because I don't have a vogue. Therefore, I have never tested this rom myself. However, some people claim it does work...

**Known issues:
GMAIL users are forced to use POP3 Email due to auto-detection EDIT: OmegaX posted a fix - misspell gmail and fix it later.

just use a RUU and replace ruu_signed.nbh

Great work no2chem! Will load it once i get home. Threaded sms is very important to us because the keyboard covers our text

hey i just noticed i have a lot of ram free, only using about 27%!!!!! that is incredible! usually its about 40 or more. did you make any modifications to do that?

also, i wasnt ever clear on this, did you add any apps in yourself then?

Sorry, I guess I need a little help. I downloaded the RUU from Cokeman's directory, and placed the RUU_signed.nbh file in that directory, but when I run the RUU it wants to flash with the ROM labeled dcd. Any assistance would be great.
Also, is there really no way to manually setup gmail IMAP?

So is threaded SMS the only advantage of WM6.1?

From everything that I have read, yes. The versions of 6.1 that are floating around are too early to use as a stable rom. The product hasn't even been officially released from MS. The 6.1 builds are straight up betas IMO.

betas that seem to be working pretty dang well though!

lol I had a friend that ran the Kaiser 6.1 beta. It didn't seem to bad!

I'm having an issue getting to run the .nbh inside of the RUU. Do I have to extract the RUU .exe then replace the file, then repackage the .exe file?

use a RUU for custom roms on the vogue.
not sure which one that would be, im sure a vogue user can direct you to it.

Isn't there a way you can use an official RUU and just replace the .nbh file?

Edit: Nevermind, found out how.

There's an RUU in cokeman's folder on the ftp. But I can't get it to work with this nbh instead of dcd's.

I used cokeman's and its working.

You just pasted this nbh into cokeman's ruu folder?

Edit: Fixed, I was seeing the FROM as the TO...aka I'm an idiot :)

Is it just me or when in a text conversation only the phone number of the other person is displayed, and not their name?

does OZ and sprint tv still work with this?

Edit. For some reason it just started working now.

IMAP Gmail is working.
 

I read in the first post that only POP gmail would be supported, yet I have IMAP working correctly.

nm, I think I got it...just have to not set your email address as gmail.com to start with.

at the screen where it ask you to type in your "username@gmail.com" and password, i typed in "username@gmail.coma" (the 'a' can be any letter, i just chose 'a') so when it tries to auto pull the info, it wont pull pop gmail. then continue with the setup but for now on enter the correct info. i didnt think it would work at first but hey, guess it's our lucky day.

Basically what I did.

I tried to download off the ftp and it says no such file or directory...

As far as the threaded messaging not displaying names....I added one name, and its displaying that name as opposed to the number in my threaded app. Maybe you texted someone before you added them to your contact list?

alright, sorry to ask the newb question but someone has to ask it. im generally technically oriented, but have never flashed a rom before. im stock right now, what all files do i need to download, how and what do i need to extract to where and how do i flash this?

Can anyone extract just the threaded sms portion of 6.1? I don't want to install this just yet.

as far as I know its probably not possible to just cab the threaded sms

Everything seems to be working good on my side. The ONLY issue I've ran into so far is when I went to Owner Information, the virtual keyboard covered it up.
