No, It will route through your computer. You are using the LAN, not the cellular connection.

Depends... Are you connecting to the internet via wifi... then no... data will not be charged to your data plan.
But if you are accessing data with your phone via 3g, you are being charged.

Re: is data used when my tp is connected to my computer via USB

One way to find out: Set your computer to use the OpenDNS servers, plug in your phone to the computer, and enter in an invalid address, (such as www.butt****bonanza.com), do you get an OpenDNS error message on your phone? If so, you are routing through your computer. No data is used. Try http://www.butt****bonanza.com/groovy.html It connects to absolutely nothing.

Wow....

If youre using your phone to give your computer an internet signal... YES, youre using your Data plan on your phone.

2megs is NOTHING, i just checked my account, since the 19th of last month, i have used 421,562 KB just using my phones browser. For the illiterate, thats 421 MEGS...

Why wont you add the $10 PV package?

You need to read more carefully, he is using his computer to provide Internet access to the phone, not the other way around.

I did read very carefully. He still isnt very clear on HOW his computer or phone is hooked up. He never says that he has home internet either. Why, if you are sitting at your computer, would you use your phone instead?

Re: is data used when my tp is connected to my computer via USB

Is it even possible to share the internet from your laptop to your phone? I know you can set the laptop as a WAP and use the wifi on the phone, but he said he's connected USB, AFAIK there is no way to share an internet connection from a windows pc to any USB device...
