WM 5 on TP

Has anyone ever tried it? Just curious what it does to the battery life. Is there even a ROM out there for the TP?

Re: WM 5 on TP

I would figure that it wouldnt work because of the hardware. But ive never heard of anything. Besides, its a laptop, not a phone, so batt life would be lower than a reg phone. Even when i had my Instinct or M610 i would kill the battery before i left work.

Re: WM 5 on TP

Wouldn't it be more accuratly reffered to as a "Palmtop", as it fits in the palms of your hands? Or "UMPC", (Ultra-Mobile Personal Computer), because it is one?

Re: WM 5 on TP

I ran WM5 on my old Mogul. I used a later version of WM5 from the old Apache as the base of the rom. The reason that worked is that there was once a release of WM5 for the Mogul which was the source of the hardware drivers. WM5 drivers don't exist for the Touch Pro. So, while you can use the 6.1 drivers with WM5, from my experience with the Mogul, you are likely to have several hardware features that just don't work. You might be able to use some of the old WM5 drivers from the Mogul (some of them would work) but still you wouldn't have all the functionality you have with WM6.1. I suspect the things most likely to fail would be the tilt and light sensors but that is just a guess.
