Help please

hey my fellow ppcgeeks im in need of your help. i cant load a custom rom on my tp im on the sprint stock rom.. i download a custom rom and when i try to down load it to my phone the active sync disconnects when the colored screen comes on

someone please help me and IM SORRY IF THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED BEFORE SORRY IN ADVANCE. ive searched high and low and cant find a solution to my problem thanks again.

Has your phone been unlocked with the Hard SPL?
The Hard SPL is required to flash custom (unsigned) ROMS

You will need the Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037 if your are using a Sprint device

If you phone has been unlocked, are you seeing an error message?

Try placing in bootloader, then connect to USB, should say USB at bottom, then run you RUU.

hey ive tried the hspl 037 but it does the same thing and i get error 248. when the phone turns off to bring up the rainbow screen thats when my active sync disconects and i doesnt come back on

I had a simialr issue to this, to correct it i downloaded the latest verison of activesync and reinstalled it. The error was created when i attempted to flash to a custom rom and accidentaly unplugged my pro during the tri colour screen phase. This caused no damage to my phone , just caused my activesync to glitch out.

Do you have any other usb devices plugged into your pc? I know mine wont sync unless I unplug the usb wifi stick.

hey i figured out what was wrong, i had my sd card still in my phone and nothing was working but when i took it out everything worked like a charm

Reallly?, in theory it really shouldn't have any effect.

if you have hard spl/custom rom on your memory card and try to flash via usb, the memory card will override the usb connection and the nbh file will load off of the card instead of the usb. removing the sdcard will allow the usb to take over. glad you figured it out.
