Refub help

I recently took my Touch Pro in to our local repair center for several issues. Before I go any farther yes I do want a Touch Pro2, however the issues with the phone are real and not user caused. The phone was brand new only 3 months old and started to move very slow. I can normally type in the first four words of a text before they show up on the screen. Sprint Navigation refused to recognize that I have an account. Google Maps would normally find my location then lock the whole phone up. I figured it was all the random programs I had on my phone and it has never been flashed so I tried several hard resets and start from scrtach with none of my programs installed to no avail. Even after a hard reset it took minutes for the phone to boot up. So back to my story I waited two days for my replacement phone to come and of course it is a refurbished phone. The slide is very loose to the point that when you close the phone it looks crooked. The phone is slow to register touch imputs. My question is how do I tell if this phone has been flashed to a custom ROM and not back to stock. Last night my first phone call came in and when I went to answer it and it has slide to unlock for phone calls. This morning I got my first ext message and the phone announced who it was from and the entire message. I dont want that information blurted out.

Thanks for any info

Re: Refub help

Slide to unlock can be installed on the stock ROM. And the Slide to answer was part on the last stock ROM upgrade.
As far as announcing your texts messages, you need to turn that off in Voice command
Go to Start->settings->Personal-Voice Command. Select Messaging and pres Options and uncheck "Announce new messages".

You can check the bootloader to tell if the phone was unlocked for custom ROMs. It is possible that there was a custom ROM on the phone and then it was flashed back to stock and relocked.

To confirm the phone is unlocked, enter bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 0.35.CMONEX or 0.37.CMONEX (or 0.25.CMONEX MFG). If it doesn't say CMONEX, then the phone is locked.

Note: To enter bootloader mode to see version: with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button along with the power button, then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the volume down and power buttons when bootloader tricolour screen appears.
