Re: Differences between the Sprint Touch Pro & Sprint Touch Pro 2?
take some time and get used to it. the tp2 is a much nicer phone, and the price difference isnt great enough to downgrade.

Re: Differences between the Sprint Touch Pro & Sprint Touch Pro 2?
I just received a TP2 coming from the TP1 and I can tell you that the D-Pad on the TP1 is horrible... Not very accurate when pressing the buttons as I believe the panel is too compact and easily activates the other function buttons. I learned very quickly to avoid its use...
I even remember reading a thread explaining the issues and how/where to properly press the keys to avoid these errors. Can't seem to find it... Not sure if this helps but the onscreen keyboard has the up, down, left and right arrows at the bottom... Other than that I say TP2 all the way... I look at it and wonder how I dealt with such a small screen... And once the unlocker hits............ LOOKOUT!!! |

Re: Differences between the Sprint Touch Pro & Sprint Touch Pro 2?
Yeah, the D-pad on the Touch Pro is pretty bad. I used to have a treo 700WX and it's just far from being as good as that. You kinda have to be careful because when you click left, you could end up clicking home, or the phone button.
With this said, the complete lack of D-pad on the TP2 is the main reason I didn't "upgrade".

I love the dpad and that's why i won't whine about getting the 2. well that and the keyboard loses some keys not that i use it a lot either. If the Diamond had an actual card slot id take one of those.

D-Pad on the TP 1 is pretty nice.
D-Pad is actually the same four buttons as the home, back, answer and hangup buttons. When you want to go left, press the entire thing to the left... when you want to go right, press the entire thing to the right... etc. |

I'm not a big fan of the d-pad on the TP, it's not very user friendly and feels kind of cheap when you are doing it IMO.

Re: Differences between the Sprint Touch Pro & Sprint Touch Pro 2?
I have never been able to use the D-Pad on the TP1 and havent really needed one since my Mogul (or PPC-6700 for that matter). The only time I ever really needed them was for Gameboy or pocket nes.

Re: Differences between the Sprint Touch Pro & Sprint Touch Pro 2?
By the way, it took me a few days to realize that I didn't have to click right on the edge of the D-pad. It made it a bit more usable, but still not that great when you're coming from a Treo for example.
