Mine as well ask the geniuses! 5,000+ contacts, performance issues...

Hi,
I've had this issue ever since I owned a winmo phone (I think my first was a Verizon XV6700 and now I'm on a Sprint Touch Pro).

The gist... Certain functions perform ultra poorly with 5000+ contacts (work phone that synchs with our client list). This includes doing anything with the contacts app (it doesn't matter if it's 1st or 3rd party) or dialing someone by using the numpad and spelling out there name i.e. My moms name is Susan Smith... so I dial 7872676 and then wait approx 10 seconds before her name pops up on my screen. There is no reason that this shouldn't be instant.

My hope is that Windows has some indexing feature of the contact list that by default doesn't expect this many contacts but is user-adjustable.

Anyone know any magic fixes or tweaks for someone with a s**t ton of contacts?
