Heat?

How do you guys deal with the heat from internet use & charging? I use WMWifiRouter, and after a few minutes left alone, the chemical switch kills the charging, and a few minutes after that, the phone dies. I've mitigated this by keeping a water bottle in the freezer overnight, so in the morning, when I turn on WMWifiRouter, I take off the battery cover and put the water bottle on the back of the phone, with a folded paper towel in between. The heat from the phone evaporates the moisture before it ever gets to the phone, and the pink moisture sticker is still cross-hatched to prove it.

The down side of this is A) everyone who stops by my desk asks me why I have a water bottle sitting on my phone and B) usually sometime after noon, the ice is completely melted and there's no more heat exchange. I'm obviously going to start keeping TWO bottles of water in the fridge, but I was wondering if anyone else had a better idea.

I'm not using the internet connection too excessively, just Facebook and IM, and I'm connecting through USB rather than WiFi, because that made the heat problem even worse.

Thanks for the input!

Re: Heat?

Sprint thinks this is normal, my phone gets so hot I could cook an egg on it. Since I do a lot of driving my solution is with the battery case off, I hold the phone out the window to cool down the phone so it will start charging again.

Re: Heat?

That link might help. I have not tried it. I usually keep my phone over a fan and it will stay charged for about 6-7 hours. My phone still dies

Mmm...exploding battery, coupled with the announcement that Asurion is replacing TPs with TP2s, huh?

Sounds like a recipe for disaster...

Re: Heat?

DaBing, what is up with a "Reputation:-1", never seen that before. How does this happen is it a ratio of Thanks to Post/Thanked?

Re: Heat?

I slide my phone open and prop it up. I usually never have a problem with charging after that.
