I got my Mogul updated through Assurion and Sprint credited the $50, and now have gotten the TP2. So to throw the rep a bone, when I picked the phone up today and got the wife a Hero, I had them put it under his name. |

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
Just took my TP in for repair at the Sprint Store. they ordered a replacement (another TP) but told me that if I had it replaced 3 times in 6months, then they would replace it with another phone (including the TP2)
I get my replacement TP on Friday, so we'll see how that one goes. My main problem is that it won't charge when it overheats.. and it overheats when I'm on the phone for more than 20 minutes.. which if I understand correctly is a fairly common problem with the TP. I have a feeling I'll be taking it back three times for the same problem and getting the TP2 Anyone know if the TP2 has the same heat problem? |

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
Totally agreed. I was finally switched into a BNIB TP2. I had no luck in my hometown those guys were jerks. Luckily, I went to visit family 2 hours away for the holiday and the guy in a random store I wandered through ordered me a BNIB TP2 after about 10 minutes of letting him know my issues. I asked if it could be shipped to my house instead of their store and he said sure. So quick and easy in 1 shot after 1+ months of fighting.

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
Anyone know if Asurion gives warranties for their replacement phones?
I don't have TEP or warranty but I paid the $100 deductible back in March for a replacement TP so it's been under 1yr since my replacement. |

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
Hello,
Long time lurker, first time poster... My original TP was bought in March of last year. Great device, until it started to flake about two months ago. I finally brought it in a week ago and they offered me the usual inferior devices. They did not meet my needs.. So I asked about the TP and they told me that they want to get people off of the TP. Then he tells me that I can get a refurbished TP. I asked if there was something that was going to replace the TP and He mentioned the TP2. We go through the who routine of the WEL list and how they are not available "at this time" to order, but he has seen it. I receive my refurbished TP... It has been working Ok and then it starts with the lock ups and a garbled screen. I call back to the Corp store and get someone who goes over my account and informs me that my replacement will be in on Friday. I then find out that he is apparently a manager and they are sick of the TP's. He tells me that my TP2 is on order and will be here on Friday. We will see if it is a refurb or not. I am happy if I get a reliable phone with the same capabilities as my TP.. |

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
To further detail the speculations of what a service center is capable of doing. Yes the service center may offer comparable models, comparable meaning = operating system (similar), hardware keyboard, etc. It is also limited by region. In my region, the TP2 comes up on a daily basis on the advanced exchange list, however when a TP comes in for service my technician is unable to order one from the warehouse and sometimes it is not an option on the exchange list right off the bat. I have had my TP replaced once, my NIB straight from Sprint crapped out (keyboard failure), my replacement (refurb) from a repair center is still going strong (not cosmetically). Of course I do get a freeze up here and there, but I am constantly changing ROMs and such. No phone, will be the phone you want (in every detail) right out of the box. Heck, even when the HD2 comes (if it arrives for CDMA carriers) will lose it's glamour after a week of use. Your best bet is to check with the reps at your local repair center for updates. I have friends that did receive TP2s through a repair center and I who knows 10 different local store managers and a regional am unable to get a hold of one. Good luck and happy hunting.
