Wobbly screen-- warranty exchange?(old question w/overheating issue also)

My screen is very wobbly and rattles when it is on vibrate. Will they do a warranty exchange or make me file insurance? I don't want to go in (since my phone is still technically functioning) and they void my warranty for the looseness of the screen and vibration. Not sure if they will try and say it's my fault. I have no experience with Verizon...

(old question)
I know there are certain things you can do to keep it cool. I never had a problem w/overheating until a couple weeks ago. Now everytime I plug my phone into the USB it gets very hot and I can't leave it on very long. I don't want to keep an icepack under it everytime I want to charge it or use it so, if it gets very hot, will my phone die or malfunction? I still have it under warranty so I'm wondering if this is covered in case it does die?

Re: Will WMWifiRouter fry my phone?

Your battery could be failing. But with WMwifiRouter, isn't to uncommon for it to get hot when the app is in use, you using wifi and EV connection all in one shot. your using everything that generates heat in the phone at once. I use WMwifiRouter all the time and i'm not having these issues.

Re: Will WMWifiRouter fry my phone?

I'd just run it and run it. The phones get hot, there's no way around that. If it pops, it's under warranty. Stick it to em, though I've streamed Pandora (using EVDO radio) while beaming the audio to my headunit (bluetooth) AND charging the whole time the phone get's really hot and I don't care, nothing's ever happened.

Re: Will WMWifiRouter fry my phone?

i wanted to make sure, if it does go down, that it's covered by the warranty.

btw, i dropped my phone today-- maybe a foot from the ground-- and the chrome is really dinged up. it vibrates funny now but hopefully that won't void any kind of warranty problem down the road...

if your phone isnt wet or lost/stolen you dont have to pay...its considered a faulty phone if it cant handle the apps we put on it...we pay alot of bucks for a "professional" phone for heavy usage.. if you are worried if/when it starts screwing up alot just hard reset it before u bring it in...

Re: Will WMWifiRouter fry my phone?

i think they can make you use insurance if they think you abuse the phone. not sure exactly how they determine that, but could have something to do with the physical condition of the phone. i have a pretty wobbly screen, for instance, and i'm afraid they might look at the dings, wobbli-ness ? and things like that when determining whether its an insurance claim or warranty. maybe an alltel/verizon employee might have more insight?

Cool Re: Will WMWifiRouter fry my phone?

Heck NO!!

I have been using it since it was a freeware built by or with Chainfire. I tested it on the PPC6700 " Genius" and the PPC6800 "Mogul" Lastly with the Touch Pro2 "Rhodium" I never use the usb connection. Hense I get the phones with a wifi connection.
The phone must get hotter with the usb plugged in as Ive had it get warm (when I had 8 users simutaniously using it LOL) Dont forget to apply the wep or WPA encryption as you dont want everone you havent invited at the airport using it. Try using the wirless connection option I found its faster than the Bluetooth or usb options.
Even works at 85 mph driving down the highway.

Best program I ever followed since beta. Then Purchased afterall it rocked.

Havent tested the new HTC on it but it sounds like it would work to.

Hope I helped

PS Anyone else think its funny after doing this for years Sprint has finally come out with a new device that does this MiFiā„¢ 2200 by Novatel Wireless ( only handles 5 concurrent users ) Already had 8 at once thru WMWiFiRouter.
Matter of fact : Chainfire , TalynOne if you see this.. Us Patent law states very clearly "first to invent gets the patent" and worldwide "first to file International"
I believe he and TalynOne should look into this. I think they win the first to invent this.
