No IP address given on Net sharing
Using Mighty Rom 6 final Windows 6.5
It has the built in net sharing deal with the usb. I installed ICS and WModem Fix which I believe is the cab that hides the net sharing from telus (not even sure if they would care)
I recently formatted my lap top, it runs windows xp, installed active sync and the laptop can get net using my ethernet cable to my home network.
I then unplugged the net cable, and plugged in the usb with my cell phone and the internet sharing thing asked me if I wanted to start it up I said yes.
Lap top started saying connection found and was trying to get a ip for net.
And that is as far as it gets. the phone won't give the lap top a ip for net, and I don't have a firewall on the lap top on (windows firewall is turned off)
Is there a manual ip I can give my lap top to make it work?
I also, downloaded wmwifirouter-final free version and downloaded htc wifi sharing and tryed to connect the the lap top to the phone that way.
Lap top sees a site I enter the 1234567890 wep key as instructed using HTC wifi sharing and everything connects and then nothing happenes. they are connected doing nothing. no net on the lap top
I tryed a few other things with no luck getting net on my lap top using my cell phone.
Any ideas? HTC Touch Pro, yes the net works on the phone lap top is a toshiba something and net works on it using ethernet cable.
Like I said, i have windows firewall turned off, the lap top is setup to obtain its own ip etc.
Should I not be installing the ics and wmodem fix cab or whatever that cab is that hids the connection to telus? does it matter?
