2D/3D Driver Development for MSM720X devices (Driverpack 3 Released!)
Interesting work being done over at XDA - I realize this has long been an issue with this chipset. WME reports their device (TP2) seemed "a bit zippier" ...FWIW... BTW, it works on the TouchPro.

Installed it (link here) and really didn’t notice any difference when in Manila. A couple of the games I play regularly definitely seem zipper. Of course I just performed a soft reset…so that could be from the fresh restart (or a placebo effect).

Re: 2D/3D Driver Development for MSM720X devices (Driverpack 3 Released!)
just did a extensive test on this latest release. On Pro 1, does not help much at all. HTC albus is 100% the same. Opera 9.5 and 9.7 are the same. Teeter is the same. So its a no go in my opinion. Only thing I did not test was HD video playback. Just was bummed out all these first 3 test did nothing new.

Re: 2D/3D Driver Development for MSM720X devices (Driverpack 3 Released!)
Driver Pack 3 released
Notes to help with that no Effect problem: -Lots of ROMs still have their default D3D drivers. -Installing the ati_d3d.dll seems to have an affect on several programs in need of 3D acceleration. TF3D included. -Installing the omnia d3d dll seems to have an affect on several programs in need of 2D acceleration. It's definitely speeding up Manila2.1 and a couple games: Sprint Touch Pro - Calk's 23053 9-24 ROM

I ran a benchmark back to back with coreplayer and TCPMP. Both times I reset my phone and overclocked before running the movie benchmark. The results after installing the drivers were negligible - I saw a 0.04% improvement. Which is nothing.

I figured it was too much to hope for...we'll get some more speed outta these things some day.
