anyone have Touch pro without data plan

I'm going to use the verizon touch pro on pagepluscellular.

I'm hoping to have data enabled by ppc for mms.

Can I still receive mms pics if I turn off data connection on touch pro and will it go off after I receive the mms or do I have to turn it off manually after I receive a mms.

Also, is there any other way data can be turned on without my knowledge.

I had my data turned off via the option in my EnergyRom (thank you NRGZ2 and i don't seem to remember having issues not getting picmail. However when I had sprint disable NAI funtionality i can not get pic mail even if checking with activesync active.
