Re: How soon do you think TP will be phased out?

I was at the Sprint store in Dublin, Ohio tonight and they no longer have the Pro or Diamond. The rep. didn't know when they would have the TP2 available in the store though.

2 weeks from what everyone is saying. super stupid to me but most of the geekers will say "i'll buy a phone having never seen it because i read it's the best"! not good business sense on htc or sprints' part.

They didnt have a single thing for the TP. The sales rep that told me this said it was in preperation for the launch of the TP2 in early september, because its been scheduled to replace the TP immediately. Id say refurbs are the last chance to get the TP now.

It's weird but my local sprint store never had the touch pro and I had to order mine form the website. I soo with that I had waited and got the TP2, I'm hoping for my birth day that someone sees this post and gets he one.. HINT HINT!! (for my bf). lol ol

Re: How soon do you think TP will be phased out?

IMO, soon. Sprint knows as well as we do that HTC f'ed up this phone and it is a lost investment for them at the rate of repairs. Every time i walk into that corporate store to fix my keyboard, the same old techs just keep shaking their head in dismay and they always say something like "yeah, HTC is really leaving all this crap to us so we just keep chucking these TPs back to them hoping they would really fix it before they send them back out as refurbs but nope..."

I'm due back soon for a new keyboard.. right on schedule. Every 2 months at my rate of use, the backlight first goes away, then the keys start repeating, then NOTHING. Weee...

But nothing makes me think the TP2 is any better..

I'm pretty sure sprint has the same policies as verizon, but after 3-4 replacements, within a 90 day period, you can get a different phone.
Im not 100% positive but its worth a shot for anyone who has had a lot of refurbs.

Re: How soon do you think TP will be phased out?

It's quite funny..... HTC has quite a following although pretty much everyone *****es about every single one of their Windows Smart Phones offerings through Sprint. People didn't just go through Touch Pro's fast, but diamonds, moguls, touches etc......

If their phones are soo terrible why are you willing to jump in on their next phone?

Me personally I've had good luck with their phones. One broken charger port on my mogul (my fault), a flawless diamond, and a once replaced touch pro (chipped chrome recall).

the main reason im getting the touch pro 2 is because of cooking, if i could use visual kitchen and all the great cooking tools with the omnia i wouldnt think twice about the touch pro 2. I will be getting both devices, but HTC devices are much more "hackable" it seems, since they have the largest following of all windows mobile devices

So it boils down to Customizations > Quality Phone?

My thought is that it's really not a terrible phone, there are just epic complainers around.
