Angry HTC Touch Pro Contrast Adjustment?

I just received my second HTC Touch Pro replacement from US Cellular. It seems as though the LCD screens with the newer ones have now gone down in quality. I am extremely angry this looks terrible.

Is there anyway to adjust the contrast or the gamma on the phone? I am all out of ideas US Cellular sent me a new phone it was completely packaged they are not the ones to blame I don't know what to do. I am just going to ask them if I can just trade mine in for a floor sample. Any ideas anyone please thank you.

windows mobile has an app for this, but i dont know if it will work in your case. in order to show the app in your settings area (on second tab), youll probably need to change some registry settings:

HKLM\\ControlPanel\Contrast\

Group = 1
Hide = 0

For real??
I can't believe that they are shipping them out with low quality screens now.
Have the spec's changed?

Re: HTC Touch Pro Contrast Adjustment?

It appears so Echomatics....should be illegal. The specs are the same just crappier screens.

Krielys can you please get a bit more specific.

I am at HKLM_LOCAL_Machine/ControlPanel/Contrast/Redirect

in the Contrast there is only a redirect file in it. Is this different from yours? Or the same? The Redirect file has no value. Thanks for the help.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Contrast Adjustment?

i dont have the Redirect subkey.. but i probably deleted it.

make two DWORD subkeys in Contrast,
one named Group with the value of 1,
another named Hide with the value of 0.

when youre done, it should show Group and Hide along with Redirect.
try resetting and seeing if the Contrast app is in your Settings / System tab..

if not, id go back and delete the Redirect subkey and try resetting & looking again.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Contrast Adjustment?

After deleting redirect contrast did show up. However whenever i adjust and press ok nothing happens. It automatically goes back into the middle. Any suggestions? I think this would actually fix it.
