The touch pro is still 299.00 on sprint and you can't even find them in the store. these phones are just ridiculously overpriced and will continue to be. |

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
Ya but when the iPhone came out wasn't it something like $499 then apple dropped the price a couple of weeks later and people were just a little mad. I still think this price is like this so sprint can sell the pre and require you to have a simply everything plan. Only because they don't require any simply anything plans for the Touch Pro2

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
With the same processor and memory as the TP - which already struggles with WM6.5 and tweaked roms on a 640x480 screen - I'd hate to think how sluggish the TP2 would be trying to drive 800x400... Up the processor and mem, and I might consider...

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
this is gona hurt since im gona prolly pay retail or buy used since i extended my contract not long ago with no upgrade option. i just sold my pre cuz i did not like a lot of things it lacked to wait and save up for a touch pro 2 but this throws me off a lot... i might go with the hero

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
i dont believe its the same chip. the TP has the Q7500 and the TP2 is the Q7600. both running at the same speed though so not sure what difference there will be.

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
I guess you all thought that "world roaming" GSM Radio was coming free? Sprint is targeting the Touch Pro 2 to the executive market who most likely have their phones paid for by their corporations. This phone will sell just as well as the last without issues...
The iPhone isn't a direct apples to apples comparison. The iPhone price dropped because Apple & AT&T wanted to rush adoption. The benefit to them both is the fact that an iPhone requires a higher rate plan and a fee reimbursed to Apple every month. With Apple getting kickbacks over the life of the device in addition to the upfront cost they can afford to make the deal look sweeter to unknowledgable consumers (those who fail to look at Total Cost of Ownership and instead only look at the retail price).

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
Regarding Sprint wanting to get customers on the SEP or have them switch to those plans to get the Pre, I remember customers asking Sprint why they had to switch plans in order to get the Instinct?
Their answer was that in order to use the full functionality of the Instinct, you needed the SEP because of the unlimited data. The customer would respond that they already had a plan with Unlimited Data which was less expensive then the SEP. Sprints response would be, well they didn't really have an answer. I agree that purchasing or switching plans is on Sprint's agenda as to one of the reasons why such there is such a High price for the Pro 2. But that will be short lived.
