Re: Physical Damage?

I didn't read the rest of the replies on this post but I work for a Sprint Service and Repair center so I know a bit about this.

The crack in the chrome is actually a defect that occurred with the first 1000 or so models of the CDMA phone that came out in America. I know that Sprint was swapping them straight out when the phone first came out for that issue but a year in, who knows?

However it looks like your screen may have some moisture under it, which is causing that weird colored effect in the center. Something like that might immediately qualify your phone as liquid damage in the right eyes.

Hope this helps.

Re: Physical Damage?

actually that's from overheating constantly. Happened to me causing me to swap mine out. That's a warranty issue...not moisture...

This phone has never met moisture. I live in San Diego and ive never brought it anywhere near water.

I know for a fact that its not moisture, because this happened when we've been getting a 90+ degree heatwave and logically that would cause the moisture inside to just dry up. But it isnt. its basically hermetically sealed inside the screen if you look at my pictures.

As for WDTS, i think he called them because i told him calling CS yeilded me a reply telling me that i could get a new Pro or get an Ozone.

Re: Physical Damage?

dont work for Verizon but if you came into my sprint store id 1 tell you that was physical damage so you would have to go through asurion and its cosmetic damage, it doesnt effect the functionality of the phone...

i hope you kept insurance im not sure if that would qualify as a manfct. defect since that was addressed in nov of 08 and that known issue isnt an issue anymore

good luck man

Re: Physical Damage?

Oh the irony.

My replacement has even more damage than my original phone. This phone has a crack that goes right through the side of the phone all the way to the battery and actually creates a separation of the phone. Pics will come soon.

Re: Physical Damage?

I guess Verizon and sprint are runnin out of good phones. They are just sending out messed up phones left and right!! As for THELASTPOET and Uemantra, they obviously dont know much about the defects on these phones. That is not water damage as REPs at the stores check for water damage. If it has that crack, doesnt mean it messed the screen and create that oil slick inside. My first TP had it and got it exchanged! (BOLD didnt want to come off )

Re: Physical Damage?

I looked through the Total Replacement official certificate and did not see a definition of 'physical damage'. It said that phones would be replaced if damaged, but I didn't see what that meant. Someone who knows please educate me. thanks

PS: I dropped my new TP2. No picture for you just now. THe case is pock-marked and the separation between the keyboard and the phone is now perceptible (word?) on the right side (kinda warped looking). Anyway, don't know if this is 'damaged' or just dinged (not qualifying).

thanks
