I found a way to spoof for free, but not from the phone, only pc. afaik
it's a service I've been trying for many other reasons, this was just a surprise bonus.

I use a spoof calling card (spoofcard.com). It works great. Use any 10 digit caller id #, option to record the conversation, and option to change your voice. Call your friend from his number, and tell him he's a tool for not sharing simple info.
