Re: TP mic is ominidirectional?
That's mad weird, my phone actually cancels out a lot of background noise. I've been outside and people thought I was inside because they didn't hear any wind, cars passing by etc.

Re: TP mic is ominidirectional?
Werrd, I'm told that my mic is ultra sensitive and it picks up things sounds that are very faint or sounds that shouldn't normally be heard so easily.

Re: TP mic is ominidirectional?
Maybe you have the AGC enabled? Start > Settings > System > Microphone AGC. Seems to work only with voice recording but it would not surprise me if it had something to do with calls as well.

Re: TP mic is ominidirectional?
Nope, it's on diisabled. I'm running EnergyROM with Xperia radio 1.16.25.48 if that matters. (I know it affects reception, GPS locktimes, battery life, (all for the better), but would that turn my mic into a omnidirectional microphone?

Re: TP mic is ominidirectional?
Yeah, he might actually benefit more from turning "ON" the Automatic Gain Control. That is what helps for voice recording and also should make your VOICE louder during calls. It's turned off by default.
