Re: Windows Mobile Software and Windows 7 (7100)
Ive tried installing the windows mobile device center standalone you can find on the internet and it does not install.
windows 7 wont detect and install your device without windows updates being setup first. You need to first do this, then search for updates while your device is still connected to your machine. Windows update will then find the correct drivers for your device and install them. After that search again (while your device is still plugged in) for windows updates and you should have one for windows mobile device center, select it and download it. It should then auto install for you and that should be it. I too use windows 7 64bit and this is the steps Ive used everytime ive had to reinstall 7. Last edited by sirshaw; 08-16-2009 at 11:29 PM. |

Re: Windows Mobile Software and Windows 7 (7100)
Your problem is most likely that you are installing the 32bit version of Windows Mobile Device Center. You need to install, obviously, the 64bit version as you are using the 64bit version of Windows 7.

Re: Windows Mobile Software and Windows 7 (7100)
I'm currently running Win 7 Ultimate x64 RTM (legally) and I don't remember for sure if it was the same on the RC, but all I had to do was plug the phone in and give it some time, it installed WMDC and the drivers for me without me having to go download things manually.
