Re: Cab that tricks Phone into thinking its charging via Charger vs USB

that may appear to work, but it doesnt actually work...it cant... your pc/laptop only gives out so much... your wall plug gives out much more...

no hack on a phone can change the output amount from the pc... since that has nothing to do with the phone..

am i wrong?? and if so, how is this possible?

htc limited the charge rate of the touch pro when charging from usb, no2chem changed it so it was the same as if you were charging it from the wall

You're mising the point of his question however. The program would only make a difference if HTC limited the charge rate below 0.5A. Most usb ports can only offer 0.5A for attached devices. The wall charger that HTC supplied us goes up to 1A I believe.

No program on the Touch Pro is going to allow your USB port to charge faster than the computer's capability.

Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful) is the motto of the Corps. That Marines have lived up to this motto is proved by the fact that there has never been a mutiny, or even the thought of one, among U.S. Marines.

Re: Cab that tricks Phone into thinking its charging via Charger vs USB

Well this is true if you don't have a DC powered USB hub. Most USB ports (especially on laptops) will allow up to 500 mA drain per root. 1A will certainly push the limit of this limit and possibly cause damage to the port. In most desktops, this limit is around 800 mA.

Using a powered hub allows all the current from the DC adapter rather than the USB port while allowing transparent communication with the computer.
