Re: Can't Play Videos Taken With Phone

I have the same exact problem but mine was not from trying out a different ROM. In my case I installed TCPMPInvarTech1.CAB and FlashVideoBundle.CAB so I can play videos that I searched for using wvd_1.4.cab. After doing that my wmp, htc album, and shozu will not play any vids and I usually get the same error that you stated (if I don't then it just doesn't play and there is no error). I would really like to fix this w/o needing to hard reset.

I've tried to associate the files that used to play in wmp before but they still will not play after that. I don't know if it's a registry setting or if wmp can be reinstalled. someone plz help before i

Mistake Numero Uno.
From what I've heard from others,
his instructions are no bueno. haha.

I personally don't like bloated roms,
so I've never tried out anything of his,
so I cannot confirm nor deny if that's the right file or not....
sorry I'm not really any help.
I did do a simple google search for
["windows mobile" media player codecs]
exactly how it's written in the brackets,
and tons of sites came up, a forum with a couple links,
and a few other sites too, I don't have time to search through and test them out, but I hope it atleast points you in the right direction.

Re: Can't Play Videos Taken With Phone

I've done tons of searching, but haven't come up with anything that will resolve this particular error.

Any other ideas are certainly appreciated.

Re: Can't Play Videos Taken With Phone

did anyone try this .cab yet?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479095

I couldn't get to install but it may be the fix that would correct at least the htc album video playback

Re: Can't Play Videos Taken With Phone

What seems to work for me is changing the .mp4 extension to .3gp and then the video file works correctly on Windows Media Player.

Try that. You might need to change your Windows folder options to display file extensions.

i just used microsoft my phone to backup contacts and other items and flashed my phone with this rom: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=69545

works amazingly and i only had to add a handful of cabs after it was flashed. i wish i coulda figured it out but since this rom already has tcpmp working with wmp, htc album and shozu (after i installed that cab) i don't need to figure this out at all
