It could just be me, but I've noticed on every custom ROM I've used, it doesn't matter what I do, I can send picture messages to anyone but only receive them from people on Alltel. I still don't understand why......

i have my port number on 80 and connect via on Alltel Wireless, and it works great.

You can put the connect via on The Internet and that usually fixes problems for people.

I tried port 80 and did nothing to help, but I'll give Internet connection a go. Thanks for the replies guys :)

Internet didn't work either. I called Alltel tech support and they said this problem is over their heads, so the engineers will have to look at it. They did give me a $20 credit on my bill, so that's a plus for them.

Ok i'll give this a go on tech support since i am a rom flashing fool.

Depends on the rom which arcsoft to use. I have 5 different arcsoft cabs depending on the roms i use.

Groove rom and demolition are the only ones that i dont have to install arcosft since its cooked into the rom

I ve found running up to latest version may not always be the best if you let me know the rom ill get ya a arcsoft cab to match.

btw the dcd cab makes a difference and can crash your internet on a rom where agprs xda ---- .cab software is installed check sys>settings>remove programs for agprs program if so remove it.

Edit: Also make sure your radio is updated and that you have an updated dcd cab also etc on the updated.... Some times the little things like radio, dcd, pri, prl, mms version make a difference. On a side note beware of spcs roms on alltel some of them have a arcsoft cab with internals of a spcs pic mail which ive noticed cause weird mms problems like broken coding on received mms and receving but not sending etc...

I'm now running a SSK WM6.1 ROM. One thing that I forgot about before was that when I first flashed, I discovered that it had a Verizon arcsoft already cooked into it. When I installed the Alltel arcsoft and dcd, it seemed to erase all traces of it though.

I may back up my current ROM and try a stock one to see if that helps.

I would flash the newest stock alltel build with new radio in it. Then reflash custom rom of you're choice as for alltel specific roms.

I bounce between 3 chefs that have provided the best out of the box compatibility with my out in the middle of nwww.everythingdiamoowhere reception. Indagroove (grooverom now on www.everythingdiamond.info), demolition roms, and new chaos theory roms.

I've never heard of anyone having to use different alltel arcsoft cabs for different roms.
I've flashed every custom touchpro rom on this site (except for Tech1's of course) and always use the same alltel arcsoft cab and it works perfect. And if the rom already has arcsoft cooked in, then i just change the server settings to alltel's, and it works perfect.

I think your problem, littleevil, is that you are not setting the server settings properly. Even after i install the alltel arcsoft cab, i still have to change the port # or the connect via for it to work. I never use the dcd carrier cab either.

same here. ive used same cab for every flash and i have not had any problems. well i do have that rare problem ONLY I GET haha ;) razorloves knows what im talking about. i still dont think you believe of that problem i have. i even changed my port to 80 and set connect via: "the internet" and its really fast now.

i usually just change the server settings and im good as well same with my brothers touch... and im using a arcsoft made for sprint users. :scratch:

do you use port 8080 or 80?
