Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi
please have a good look at the manual. particularly the page with the order of install.
also the last time I had a cab in there that forced a reboot, I think it ended up in a loop going back and installing the last cab, due to it never getting a chance to report back to sashimi it was done. although this may have been fixed in the last version.. the only cabs I set to run first are net cf 2 & 3.5 (yes I do both, cuz I never know what a rom will have in it and I need both versions for all my apps.)(also it's never caused a problem installing over the rom version.)

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi
first time user of this program it seems like it could be very helpful once i learn how to use it better... i flash a lot of roms recently.
so i installed sashimi on the storage card... placed some .cabs into the auto folder that i need to install after a hard reset/flash... and then i hard reset... and now i am lost is sashimi supposed to auto install these cabs? or do i have to re install sashimi now and run "auto" ? |

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi
sashimi needs to be installed.
if your cabs are on storage card, then you must install sashimi onto storage card.

There is no need to reinstall SASHIMI. Some chefs will add that feature to their custom rom but if SASHIMI doesn't automatically start, check out post #91 by DV8ways: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...=75214&page=10 simply follow the instructions and you should be set to go.

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi
SASHIMI has got me spoiled and i am trying to learn mortscript to find a quicker way if not automate the entire process of restoring phone after the flashdance. Here are a couple of scripts to automate backup and restore of PPCPIMBackup which is my preferred app to saving PIM data, text messages and stuff.
The back up script "usepimbackup.mscr" can be saved anywhere you like on the storage card. The script will create a folder called BACKUPs in My Documents directory of storage card. Run it first and if you like, you can create a lnk in sashimi to have it show up in the start menu after a flash. The "restorepim.mscr" written by studentjunk, should be saved in sashimi\auto\scripts folder. This will automatically run PPCPIMBackup to restore your most recent backup during sashimi auto install. This has been tested on my phone at least a dozen times. Hope it helps!! Last edited by christian.a; 12-22-2009 at 09:22 PM. Reason: added attachments |

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi
Have you guys started using the .auto function? Basically, it allows you to send a key press or similar when certain programs ask for user input before installing, but you have to know the window name that is asking for the input.
Anyway, I use SBP Walletv2 and it asks for a language selection input. Anyone have an auto file for that? |

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi
I don't use SBP, but I do use auto files for both google maps and bing. You can just install the program and the window title will be shown when the installation asks for whatever input it requires. In your case, the language file.
