Another dumb question, sashimi would automatically back up what i have in the file then the next time I run auto it will unload those setting back to where they should be right?
I'd recommend reading through the manual again and/or taking another look at the videos to be sure you are comfortable with it before erasing anything. You can back up the registry settings in the tools\custom export, and they should be restored on the flash.

I don't use either of those programs, so I don't know the answer for sure. Most settings are stored either in the registry or a file. So go to sashimi\tools\full export to back up your registry. Make a change in the program of interest, and then do another full registry export under tools\full export. Then use windiff to compare the two files - you should be able to pin down the change you made. there will of course be a bunch of stuff that always changes with time/position of the phone, so you'll have sort through those. Additionally, you can check the program files folder or the windows directory for the latest changed file - which sometimes have the registry settings. Hope this helps.

Resco Explorer's settings may be in the registry, but the actual registration key / process is not. It is supposed to use the Windows/wmtrigger.dat file -according to other posts and sites where I originally looked. I do back this up but have not been too successful getting the registration to work when I copy this file back. Just an FYI.

Sashimi is really a great tool. Flashing has just been made so much easier. I can now almost flash my phone without the wife know what I'm doing!

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi

Yeah I agree - I'm on my 7th Touch Pro, 4th just this month!

It's great to be able to pick up my phone from sprint, and unlock and flash it back to the way I had it before the keyboard went out ALL DONE BEFORE I GET HOME!

Talk about sweet!

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi

When Sashimi is setup to run after a hard reset does it interfere with the normal customization process that a custom ROM goes through after a hard reset?

No because the normal customization process that a custom ROM goes through has already happened by the time UC picks up sashimi

No, you have to run Sashimi after you hard reset,

If want the UC section (which most custom roms use) to launch sashimi then read POST 1 under Information Section > User Customization to Launch Sashimi

Yes, still have the option once it launches Sashimi to exit it and not push your settings. which is nice, because you need to hard reset after a flash and there is not point to installing your settings for a hard reset.
