Re: Why does everyone use Rapidshare?

That's why you should encrypt the data as it comes downstream. That way, no one knows what it is until it gets to your computer and gets de-encrypted. and torrents are perfectly legal too, so you could definitely fight that.

The only problem with skydrive... since it's Microsoft, placing ROMs for WM on there might not be a good idea...

Didn't know you could encrypt data with torrents and what not.
And its not legal if you're "stealing" movies. haha.
atleast that's how they put it.
Idk, I really don't care.
We're about to get satellite,
which upload sucks,
but I'll be able to download whatever I want pretty quickly.
And won't have to worry about anything.

Very hard.
You know, it takes a while to read them,
versus just hitting the ok or exit button or whatever it is when you're forced to read them.
haaha.

Re: Why does everyone use Rapidshare?

I know utorrent allows you to encrypt network traffic while downloading torrents, not sure about other ones. And torrents themselves are legal, I didn't mean downloading movies and what not.

Re: Why does everyone use Rapidshare?

The answer is simple. RS allows free hosting of files up to 200MB. These other sites you gusy are lointing to have limits of 50MB (skydrive, upload army) or 100MB, but may roms are 100MB+. Megaupload freeks out sometimes, and doesn't really upload files right. That's why I use RS.

UA shows 101MB (100MB) as the largest file uploadable. Putting that aside, it is always possible to split the files using winrar or even HJSplit (free) into smaller chunks.

So free UA account + free splitting utility (HJ Split) = profit.

If people is able to flash phones and installing apps as well as modification and registry entries, joining and splitting files should be a breeze.

Re: Why does everyone use Rapidshare?

Sorry for posting everything in the Touch Pro forums, I just happened to own a Touch Pro and I just noticed that everyone likes to use CRAPidshare for their roms and it's annoying (usually have to wait 90 seconds). Heck I'll even host all the files on my MegaUpload account, I'm not saying MegaUpload is the greatest free file host around but they SURE as heck beat RS. 50GB is a nice free gift (or the Microsoft Skydrive, which I haven't checked out yet, and I've had hotmail for many years even before I recently got into the Windows Mobile scene)
