New to the board question

Hello everyone, well this if my first post here and I've got a question that I can't seem to find. When you do one of these custom ROM updates, does that update the Radio as well in the phone or no or should it say if it does?

I just got the latest update from HTC's website with the new radio and I like it a lot.
