verizon visual voicemail

Hi guys, I'm having some issues with the Verizon Visual Voicemail app. This is what happens:
- Voicemail comes in, and the program autostarts immediately
- I can listen to the new voicemail fine, but when I exit the program, it crahses
- The voicemail icon in the status bar does not go away and I get notified that I have new voicemail, which turns out to be the same one I just listened to.

Is VVM basically crap or is it just my phone? I'm using SSK's kitchen with a VVM cab found on this forum. Thanks in advance!
