Re: New Touch Pro so cheap now
why not just buy a gps and sae a hundred bucks...
as far as i know, nothing is confirmed for any carrier, in any county for TP2 release date.. and 180 is about the rate, im sure its with new 2 yr contract, the 150 mail in rebate, some instant discount for buying online, and some additonal discount for buying for that site probably..

I'm not sure how much this effected demand....but now that verizon won't let you play in their sandbox, that market is dried up.
supply & demand

No, I still prefer a PDA phone and load it up with GPS. That way if your phone died, you got another one.
Today news say T-mobile will get the TP2 first on Aug 12(unconfirmed): http://www.brighthand.com/default.as...+Pro2+T-Mobile Last edited by chong67; 07-06-2009 at 07:52 PM. |

Re: New Touch Pro so cheap now
I think I saw the one you were looking at on Ebay last night. The seller has 93% feedback (I know, one bad FB out of only 20, but 93 is a BAD number and many won't even look past it), the item comes without a box or a battery. I'd do it if I didn't already have two backup phones (not TPs though). I didn't look closely enough to see what else it was missing, or if it had water sticker problems, but it was significantly cheaper than the others, even the same sellers' other TP's.
To answer the GPS question, I used GPS without data in Kings Canyon, California a few weeks ago. It was terrible (only got a lock when we were hiking high in the canyon), but it worked. I ended up switching to my old iBlue GPS unit since it held a better fix and didn't show me wandering across the Kings River and halfway into the back country every now and then. But geographical barriers aside, it did work. You're probably thinking of the Palm 800w disaster. *shudder* |

Re: New Touch Pro so cheap now
A lot of phone companies are slashing their prices because the I-phone 3G is only $99 now. I just got a Samsung Instict, which was $450 before the I-phone price cut, for only $50. No one is going to buy a TP for $850 (about $300 w/ new contract right now) when you can get an I-Phone for $99.
