power button resetting instead of sleeping?

Sounds like a hardware problem to me. Are you using a custom rom?

yeah im using mighty rom 4.16 have been for months. thats the only other thing i havent tried. i should have mentioned that too. sorry im just learning to post properly. and my friend works for sprint so i know i can get a new one without a problem but i didnt want to have to do it if i didnt have to.

If a hard reset isn't correcting your problem I would definitely take it to your friend.... sorry I wasn't of more help...good luck bro
