Question Question using HTC Pro with cradle

I'm new here and it looks like I've found a great forum for PPC discussions.

I have an HTC Touch Pro (Sprint) and just bought a desk cradle for it. It works great, expecially the part where I run the sound through my speakers. I'm getting a bit hard of hearing and the HTC speakerphone just isn't loud enough for me.

I have a problem I hope someone has a solution for however. When I dock the HTC in the cradle and use it as a speakerphone, it seems to shut off the microphone. I have to pick up the phone to talk. The speakerphone icon grays out when docked. Does anyone know how to get around this, or if it can be corrected? I want to use the phone as a speakerphone while docked and connected to my external speakers.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Question using HTC Pro with cradle

Which cradle do you get. Unless the cradle will support or has a mic built in you may be out of luck. But with my cradle, I am in the same situation. One thing you might look into is a bluetooth speakerphone in additon to the cradle.

I use my cradle on my nightstand since I am also hard of hearding due to working for years around F18 and F14's in the Navy. (Yes, proper hearing protection was in use.) This is the only way I can hear my phone in the middle of the night if I get a call while on-call. If I do get a call I just pick it up out of the cradle.

Re: Question using HTC Pro with cradle

indeed, i was also wondering what kind of cradle you are using. Do you have a link for it? i am wondering if it is making the Touch Pro think it's using a wired headset, which would have its own built-in mic.

Re: Question using HTC Pro with cradle

You will loosen your USB connector causing intermittent connection with activesync. It happened to both of my xv6700 and xv6800. Pleae stay away at all cost.
