Re: SMS Lag Fix!

I don't know if anyone has noticed this thread but basically if you disable the vertical scroll bar, it also helps with the lag. I'm sure if someone CABS both these fixes up together there shouldn't be any lag at all!

Where do you go to disable the vertical scroll bar? Having trouble finding it.

Thanks,

Re: SMS Lag Fix!

Just incase it helps to locate the source of the lag with the character count that you are removing here. I loaded mighty rom 6, which appeared to have the count disabled from the get go, so naturally, no lag. i loaded all my cab's that i use, once of which being the 160 sms cab for sprint (enables 160 character messages instead of 130). that seems to have reenabled the count, however, i have no lag whatsoever, in any application. perhaps that cab modifies something else that works together with haveing the count line removed from the sms file prior to installation? anywas, just thought id share.

Thanks,
You have to have a program called advanced config. Search within that program and disable it.

Beware that this hides the scroll bar from everything in Windows, not just SMS. I'll try it out, 6.5 has no need for scroll bars anyways!

Removing vertical scroll bar didnt do anything other than be annoying in windows... restored. But now commented what you suggested in compose_sms.htm and removed count in thread_sms.htm, and we'll see.

What always screws me is using the hardware keyboard, that's when it completely flips out, freezes up, gets really slow, but the onscreen keyboard, there's no lag.. so.. I dunno. Why would the count affect the hardware keyboard but not the onscreen one?

Talking Re: SMS Lag Fix!

Several of the .CSS files have the Font name in them.

Like thread_style.css
Code:
body {
    margin: 0px;
    font-family: Tahoma;
    font-size: 8pt;
    color: menutext;
}
read_style.css
Code:
body {
    margin: 0px;
    font-family: Tahoma;
    font-size: 8pt;
    color: menutext;

    border-bottom: 10px solid buttonface;
}
iframe_style.css
Code:
body
{
    margin-left: 5px !important;
    margin-right: 5px !important;
    margin-top: 0px !important;
    margin-bottom: 0px !important;
    font-family: Tahoma !important;
    font-size:  9pt !important;
    font-weight: normal !important;
    wrap-option: emergency;
}
compose_style.css
Code:
ComposeBody {
    font: 8pt Tahoma;
    margin-left: 5px;
    margin-right: 5px;
}

Just figured I'd throw my two-cents in for those of you wanting to change the font.
