Re: My list of issues -- how Touch Pro should be improved
And you can add
6- Better external speaker quality/loudness. Even with all the audiopara fixes in the world, the speakerphone and app volume/quality is unacceptable. 7- Fix the heat issues that lead to charging issues. The only thing more frustrating than taking out a TP finding it hot to the touch with 1/4 of its battery life gone is to leave it charging overnight and discover it has little or no charge when you leave for work the next morning. I could certainly add more, but what's the point. You could take this list, remove 1 or maybe 2 issues (and add 1 or 2 new ones) and paste it into the TP2 forum and it will be entirely accurate. But don't worry, it will all be fixed with the TP3 and WM7 . For me, the fun of hacking and tweaking this phone has been overshadowed by the frustration of its design flaws and poor performance/reliability. It can do so much, unfortunately all too often not when you need it. Personally, I'm done with HTC and WM in general. The only way I get another WM device is if I'm upgraded for free like I was with the TP.

OH, I cannot believe I forgot these. Wait, it has a speaker?? What joke. I am not sure you could call it a speaker at all. Only reason I am keeping this phone is because it doesn't cost me anything... Believe it or not, but just dumb luck, but the only issue I have NOT had is the overheating issue. Not during recharging anyway. Wait, it did overheat on me once when I ran GPS and sat it on the car seat. That plus it drained 1/2 of the battery in about 40 minutes. Never again will I use GPS. |

I am afraid I don't have a choice in the matter of OS.... I am stuck with it.

Hm, I don't know, reading all the upgrade horror stories here is not exactly inspiring.
I kind of need another Touch Pro for testing purposes, make changes on it and if all works, make them on the active one. |

Re: My list of issues -- how Touch Pro should be improved
etc- It is definitely an irrational fear. When I got my diamond(1st ppc) I had not made a single call before i flashed to one of Mike's ROMs. I had been reading posts on this site for a few weeks before I bought it and had garnered enough knowledge to never have any issues flashing...
If you are careful and read before you act you can do no wrong...go for it.

Re: My list of issues -- how Touch Pro should be improved
IMO the biggest flaw is the heat issue. The TP can do so much but the battery life is awful and it can't run off the charger when it overheats.
That's a flaw that has changed the way I use this device. I can't stream radio all day long at work because after a few hours the battery will be dead and the phone won't run off the charger even if I take out the battery. |

Re: My list of issues -- how Touch Pro should be improved
Umm use a custom ROM. Install a different radio. Try installing different softwares. There aren't that man horror stories on this site. Most people here have a custom rom on their phone.
Stylus falling out? That's just yours. Mine has been fine for 7 months. Touch screen...no problems here. Only thing I agree with is the overall build and how loud the speaker is. The battery is also somewhat of an issue, but I keep a charger at work and in my car. |

Re: My list of issues -- how Touch Pro should be improved
While I agree that the build quality and battery are not sufficient, I have and continue to be impressed with my TP. I agree that the build quality really sucks (especially compared to Samsung) but after flashing a custom ROM and updating the radio, this phone is awesome.
I had to send it in for the keyboard repair last week, and went back to my old Sammie i760... I miss the TP every day. I use it so much my wife calls it my girlfriend, has given it a name. I don't know why, but she calls it "Mona."
