Re: 2 phones on 1 line
not to be specific, but i clone my old sanyo 8200 to my current esn because my battery just doesn't last long enough. i hate carrying batteries with me, and the sanyo has much better reception in low reception areas, such as the basement in my house. i usually keep the sanyo in the car if i go anywhere, just in case i need it. is it legal? nope. has sprint caught on? not in the past year. i use both phones daily. and please, nobody msg me about cloning. i won't answer any questions.

Re: 2 phones on 1 line
i taught myself how... it took me around 6 hours to gather everything necessary. i'm not a genius or anything, so if you can't figure it out, thats not my problem lol
and its illegal, and i'd rather not be tracked to florida by the fbi haha |

Re: 2 phones on 1 line
I signed up with Grand Central (since bought out by Google Voice) and have a local Washington DC number from there. it rings on both my cell phones, my Touch Pro and my Moto Razr. Not cloning, not illegal, but handy as hell. I can give out that number but if I in the field or whatever and I dont want to risk fubaring my Touch Pro I can simply use the razr and still get my calls and messages.

Re: 2 phones on 1 line
I'll admit, having a second (or third, or fourth) phone one an exsiting line would be nice. I would mostly like it for security purposes, I could keep a couple old cell phones on chargers in drawers in various rooms, that way if I couldnt get to my main phones (home or cell) I could always grab one of those charged phones and do what I need.
For all practical purposes I'm really thinking a home fire or home invasion, if my wife or myself coluldnt get to our cell phones and the home phone was disabled or inaccesable then we could just grab one of those "other" phones and dial emergency services. Yes, I am paranoid. So does anybody know of a pay as you go phone that can sit for a year or more and still work? Because that would solve my concerns. Unfortunatley I dont know of any that work like that. |

Re: 2 phones on 1 line
sorry john, maybe I should have jumped on the "thats illegal" bandwagon. supposedly google voice is supposed to be opening up soon, so it might become an option.
and snoman, you know that even on an unactivated cell phone you can dial 911 right? |

Of course, 5 minutes of internet reasearch showed that I was incorrect and old phones could dial 911. In fact, many old phones are donated to agencies that help battered women, they had the phones out so the women can dial 911 if the need arises. Guess I need to take those old phones away from my 3yr old now. Now it makes me wonder how long a fully charged turned off cell phone will last? 6mo before the battery dies, 12, 18? Thanks |
