I'm surprised Gmail themselves haven't developed a mobile application. Hopefully it'll utilize server side messages so that messages can be pushed to your phone even if your phone was out of service.

www.palringo.com, I use it for ALL my IMs. Even goggletalk and facebook.
I should add that palringo, while not cutesy like beejive, is free and gets constant free updates.

I too am sadden by google not making this a standalone app on winmo phones. I would have thought by now they would have but maybe they got something in the works for it coming soon. I hope. And one that's not a batt hog either

i hate using 3rd part chat clients cause they always burn through batteries and the fact that you can only be considered online while the program is alive. I wish more clients allowed you to receive messages while you had the program closed or were out of service, and give you all your messages whenever you came back.
