I'm surprised Gmail themselves haven't developed a mobile application. Hopefully it'll utilize server side messages so that messages can be pushed to your phone even if your phone was out of service.

I'm not. Google only seems to develop WinMo apps as an afterthought. They are more interested in developing for Android and iPhone.

www.palringo.com, I use it for ALL my IMs. Even goggletalk and facebook.
I should add that palringo, while not cutesy like beejive, is free and gets constant free updates.
