that happened with my att fuze. i had everything perfect and even had a backup. put the backup on and it still did it. only was fixed with a hard reset.

IMLK the phone will always wake up on sms/mms due to the way cdma sms works. the phone has to wake up to know if it's a call or not. I think gsm can turn this off though.

There's just tons of things that could cause this.

The phone will not wake up to deal with Push Email... I have my Touch Pro sitting right next to me now and it is configured to notify me with an audible tone when I get a new email. The tone plays, but the screen stays off until I turn it on to check what the message is.

The only notifications that wakes the phone up on its own are SMS and Phone Calls.

OP if it's that big of a deal why not get a bigger battery or carry a spare?

That's a good idea. I just got a spare off ebay for like $7 shipped.
It's the 1350mah that still fits in the stock battery cover.
And then I got a dock with another one of those batteries,
and 6 hard cases(all different colors), ten screen protectors for the whole front of the phone cut specifically for the touch pro.
and was going to get a couple stylus', but decided to wait,
along with waiting to get my tvout cable.
but the other items I got, was 65.50 total, and the dock and battery was 35 alont. lol. so that's not a bad deal at all.

I would suggest using the Diamond Tweaks cab to attempt to fix this issue. I dont have this issue with mine and I have the weather update on auto and the Stock update always updating for me. Try this.
