Re: htc touch pro screen turns on by itself..

I have the exact same problem. Device randomly wakes itself up and the screen turns on repeatedly. I'm on Sprint service, and currently running Silence rom, but I've had the same problem on other roms -- various versions of Mighty, Juicy, etc.

I've already tried all the keylock/screen/power/weather/etc settings everyone mentioned, with no effect. Hey Schino, maybe if we can figure out what's the same about our TPs we can narrow down what might be causing it?

My TP is configured for remote push ActiveSync with an Exchange server (email, contacts, calendar, etc). I've also got it set to send/receive my Gmail account via IMAP every 60 minutes.

Other than that, I've got the following software installed beyond what comes with Silence rom:

Omega One 1-Calc
Ilium Software eWallet
Palringo (but I've set it not to auto-start so it's not running)
TaskFacade
Google Maps
Total Commander

EDIT: Just thought of something else -- I'm running the Telus 1.04.05V radio. Which radio are you using?

you push emails can do that.
It will wake up the phone everytime it connects to download.
If you have titanium weather set up to auto update
that will do it to.
There's just tons of things that could cause this.

For the emails go to Start/Programs/ click on the Windows Live icon... click menu in the bottom right corner... click options in the pop up...click Sync Schedule to adjust frequency, it's probably already set to manual if u didn't know how to get to this beforehand... Now Titanium Weather is for Windows 6.5... is that what your running? If so, I'm running 6.1 & can only tell u how to enable or disablke the updates in TF3D weather.... Slide over to the weather tab...click menu...click settings... uncheck boxes..

Re: htc touch pro screen turns on by itself..

That can't be right, though -- it's sily for the whole phone to turn on (including the screen) just to send/receive email. Makes no sense to drain the battery needlessly like that.

Also emails with the regular messaging app.
If you go to start>messaging.
and then go to menu (should be a soft key), press options.
then tap whatever emails you have and go through the setup
and change it to manual sync instead of automatic.
(you'll have to adjust settings for each individually)

Talk to microsoft.

One of my personal mottoes (sp?) I've adapted to recently:
Don't complain about something unless you plan on changing it!
