Text Killing Battery?

I'm on the latest Mighty 5.
I've turned off beam and also GPS.
Is it just me, or does texting just absolutely murder the battery? After about two hours I lose about 25% of the battery.
I was on the telus radio and then switched to the lastest sprint. Still seems to drain alot.

When you text your phone switches from EVDO to 1X and then back to EVDO..this is what's killing your battery. Force 1X on your phone. It will help a lot.

This sounds like it'd be it. If there a quick way to stay on 1x other than doing ##evdo# which is the only way i know how to do that.

Any clue why it has to switch to 1x out of curiousity?

Yea I figured the screen would kill battery, but I don't know how much it does. I just keep mine on automatic.

If u have your email setup to sync as the item arrives then that could be having an effect on your battery life as well...

1x is what is used for calls and texts. evdo is the fast internet speeds that you get and can be interrupted for a phone call or text. the force 1x will mess u up if ur connected to the web
