Re: PIM Backup - 6.1 to 6.5

I used it to backup contacts and text messages. It worked fine for me from 6.1-6.5. I had a problem going from a Mogul to a TouchPro but all you had to do was set the setting to "Delete All current contacts" before you refresh the backup file.

Re: PIM Backup - 6.1 to 6.5

if your a business user, i wouldnt use My Phone, it puts all your info on a server that is not run by you. Pim back up works on 6.5 from 6.1...as always, dont restore text messages...

I agree 100% (same thing with DashWire), although everytime I post that 20 people respond & tell me I have "nothing to worry about"

So i guess you don't use Microsoft Outlook, or Exchange server either lol. Give me a break it's all ran and controlled by the same company. Majority of major business either have microsoft powered computers or have some sort of microsoft powered something lol. They dominate in the corporate world and i'm not speaking PPC's. So why would My Phone be any less secure then any other service they offer???

DO NOT DO THAT! The only reason to backup PIM.vol is to have a backup WHEN RETURNING TO THE SAME EXACT ROM

I made that mistake before... pim.vol changes coding through the many different ROM versions, so you will probably have major issues if you drag it to 6.5

Ok, Sau. I dragged it for my Mogul to TP with no ill effect. With all the free back up trials available you would think it is a non issue but I understand some people do not know.
SPB BACK UP
SPRITE BACK UP'
Resco

Re: PIM Backup - 6.1 to 6.5

I had a similar issue when moving my wife from her Treo 700p to my old 6800. It took me for ever to figure out that I needed the 4.x version (for my T5) of Palm desktop rather than the 7.2 version offered for her phone on Palm.com to be able to sync her treo with outlook. Once I figured that out it was cake getting the contacts on the 6800. I was able to get all of her calendar entries on the 6800 too. She had kept up entries for daily occurrences since 2004 when she had an Palm TE.

Outlook is web based as well and you have to let it connect to the internet how else will you recieve your e-mails. Everyone that has a outlook exchange account can also go online and log on to it mine is https://starmail.starwoodhotels.com/exchange so it's not different at all

Hey bro I just backed mine up in outlook and no matter what phone or what rom I use all I have to do is sync with outlook and it works. I was using stock 6.1 rom and upgraded to the most awesome SsS rom and I synced phone with outlook and bamm all done it worked just fine.
