If i'm not mistaken, to get the old start menu back, it's a 2 part deal. You need to install a "regular" start menu cab and a hide program cab. I have both of the programs, but they're on my laptop which i left at work. If nobody puts up the cabs for you by the time i get to work, I'll post em here for you.
